What is
VT-PAC?
The Vermont Political Awareness Committee (VTPAC) is the political arm of your union, VSEA, helping members engage in pro-worker, pro-union political actions across Vermont. The more VSEA members who join VTPAC, the stronger our ability to elect candidates who support workers and unions.
Founded in 1996 at the request of VSEA members, VTPAC was established to ensure the collective power of state employees is recognized by politicians. Unions have always had to fight for the right to participate in politics, and VSEA is no exception, but together, we made it happen.
VSEA's political efforts include providing volunteer support and, sometimes, financial backing for pro-union candidates. VTPAC’s main goal is to raise funds to support as many of these candidates as possible.
State employees are especially reliant on lawmakers in Montpelier. While VSEA bargains directly with the State over wages, it’s the legislators who vote to allocate the funds for any salary increases.
VSEA and VTPAC work tirelessly to keep anti-union politicians out of office and elect candidates who protect VSEA members' hard-earned benefits and rights.
Remember, VSEA members are also Vermonters and taxpayers, and our concerns are just as vital as those of other working Vermonters.
By joining VTPAC today, you’ll not only improve your own working life but also support all state employees across Vermont.
